General information for vacationers on the Finca “Palo Alto”

water
The tap water in El Jaral is of drinking water quality and can be used for cooking without hesitation. Sometimes it is slightly chlorinated. Attention: This is only possible here. Don’t drink from taps anywhere else. We recommend drinking mineral water.

Waste
Please collect your rubbish in normal plastic bags (from shopping) and throw the closed bags into the gray rubbish container at the school square every day. This way you avoid vermin. Throw glass bottles and packaging into the glass container and collection bin for packaging.

towels
There are enough towels in each bathroom. Please do not take these to the beach. If the towels are dirty, give them to us in the laundry basket to be washed. The basket is picked up about once a week. Please do not wash yourself!

bedding
In each bedroom there are two more bed sets. If necessary, pull them open and give us the dirty ones in the basket to wash. Attention: Please do not wash any of the house laundry (towels, bed linen, etc.) yourself.

coffee machine
In the house is a coffee machine for filter coffee and/or an espresso machine.
Pour the ground espresso coffee into the 1 or 2 cup portafilter. Please wash and keep the sieves after use. If the sieves are not available when you move out, a fee of € 50 will be charged. In some houses there is also an espresso capsule machine.

Room cleaning and washing machine
A cleaning service (€15/hour) is available on request. Otherwise, brooms and cleaning equipment are available. At Casa Azul is a communal washing machine. You get the key from the gardener. The wash cycle costs € 5,– without detergent. Please pay him the total amount directly.

Plant
If you would like to water the plants in the finca yourself, please let us know, otherwise the gardener will come by to water them.

electric
On the finca is normal alternating current with 220V/50Hz. like in Germany. The fuse box is behind the door in the living room. If the power fails, turn the machine back on. It could also be the machine in the outer meter box!

Pool and JacuzziThe pool is solar heated. Please close the cover film again after use, otherwise the heat will be lost.
The whirlpool is permanently heated to 37 C and you can use it at any time. To open it, one person on the left and one on the right should fold the two-part cover plate over the metal bracket and then let it slide down backwards. Please be sure to close it again after use, otherwise the heat you bought at a high price will be wasted and we would have to share the electricity costs with you.
Attention: Children are only allowed in the pool or whirlpool under the supervision of their parents. Children should not soak in the hot tub for more than 15 minutes.

gas heating
Some houses have gas heating. The first bottle is free and usually lasts about 10 days. The exchange of further bottles is subject to a charge and these can be ordered from the caretaker.

Infrared heating.
In some houses there is infrared heating in the bedrooms. This ensures a pleasant temperature in the bedroom. Please do not change the set temperature on the thermostat of 20°C.

restaurants
In Tejina, after the first bar and the Supermercado, a street leads up to the left. Here is the restaurant “Las Goteras” with original Spanish cuisine. In Guia de Isora you will find several restaurants and pizzerias on the main street. Here, too, the quality and the price are in order. Between Guia de Isora and the town of Chio, the popular restaurant SIRA is on the main road right in the bend. (If you get to know a good place, get a business card and put it in the folder)

supermarkets
Coming from El Jaral, turn right to Guia de Isora. On the main street turn right after 500m supermarket “Dialprix” and just before the end of town turn left “Alteza”. If you turn left coming from El Jaral you will come to Tejina and on the left is a bar and small supermercado with surprisingly good prices. The big supermarket is at the big roundabout in Adeje, left up the hill is “LIDL”, and at the roundabout on the right after about 300m next to the gas station is “Mercadona” with a large fish and meat department!

beaches
The nearest beach resort is Playa San Juan. The quickest way is via Tejina. Coming down from Jaral, turn left at the main road through the two tunnels. Directly at the entrance to the town, take the first street on the right in the direction of Playa San Juan. The path goes through banana plantations to the lower coastal road. This turn right. After about 1km you are in Playa San Juan. However, the nicer bathing beach is Playa de las Arena with the black beach. Here is a nice swimming opportunity. The place is on the lower coastal road 2 places further to Playa San Juan, i.e. via Alcala to Playa de las Arena, just before Los Gigantes. The well-known and good restaurant “Pancho” is right on the beach

key deposit
On the day of departure, put the key under the doormat on the front door after you have locked the door. You can also deposit any amounts for finca wine, use of the washing machine, etc. in the house.

Smoking
Many of our guests are non-smokers or asthmatics. Therefore, you will understand if we ask you to smoke only on the terrace. We thank you for your consideration.

winery
The bodega is available for fiestas. If more than 10 guests come to celebrate a party, we can organize it for you. Ask us.

Los Gigantes with the steep coast is interesting.
