Arona is the hotspot for Tenerife lovers
The place “Tenerife Arona” is the center of the municipality of the same name and extends to about 85 km² in the south of Tenerife. It competes with the municipality of Adeje, which lies on the border. Both are similar and have been the most important places in the south since the beginning of tourism in the 1960s.
The most famous place in “Arona” is Playa de Las Americas. The stronghold for tourism with many hotels, apartment complexes and a long entertainment mile. It feels like countless restaurants on the long promenade offer guests a variety of different cuisines from all over the world. The approx. 15 km long coastline offers many amusements for water sports enthusiasts of all kinds and the long sandy beaches delight the many bathing tourists. Directly adjacent is the town of Los Cristianos with the port and the popular beaches. Nevertheless, the original small fishing village has still retained its tranquility. The locals still meet to chat under the old plane trees in the small plaza near the harbor.
The ferries from “Arona” run from the port to the other islands of the archipelago and there is always a coming and going. Often fishing boats come in and you can watch the big tuna being unloaded.
