General information for Finca Palo Alto
Water
The tap water in El Jaral is of drinking water quality and can be used safely for cooking. Sometimes it is slightly chlorinated. Attention: This is only possible here. Do not drink from water pipes anywhere else. We recommend drinking mineral water.
Waste
Please collect your rubbish in normal plastic bags (from shopping) and throw the sealed bags into the gray rubbish bin near the school site every day. This will help you avoid pests. Throw glass bottles and packaging into the glass container and collection container for packaging.
Towels
There are enough towels in every bathroom. Please do not take these with you to the beach. If the towels are dirty, put them in the laundry basket for us to wash. The basket is picked up approximately once a week. Please do not wash yourself!
Bedding
There are two additional bed sets in each bedroom. If necessary, put them on and give us the dirty one in the basket to wash. Attention: Please do not wash the house laundry (towels, bed linen, etc.) yourself.
coffee machine
There is a coffee machine for filter coffee and/or an espresso machine in the house.
Pour the ground espresso coffee into the portafilter for 1 or 2 cups. Please wash and store the sieves after use. If the screens are not present when you move out, a fee of €50 will be charged. Some houses also have an espresso capsule machine.
Room cleaning and washing machine
A cleaning service (€15/hour) is available upon request. Otherwise, brooms and cleaning equipment are available. There is a shared washing machine at Casa Azul. You will receive the key from the gardener. The wash cycle costs €5 without detergent. Please pay him the total amount directly.
Plant
If you would like to water the plants in the finca yourself, please let us know otherwise the gardener will come by to water them.
Electric
The finca has normal alternating current at 220V/50Hz. like in Germany. The fuse box is in the living room behind the door. If the power goes out, switch the machine back on. It could also be the machine in the outside meter box!
Pool and whirlpool The pool is solar heated. Please close the cover film again after use, otherwise the heat will be lost.
The whirlpool is permanently heated to 37 C and you can use it at any time. To open it, one person on the left and one on the right should fold the two-part cover plate over the metal bracket and then let it slide down to the back. Please be sure to close it again after use, otherwise the expensively purchased heat will be wasted and we would have to share the electricity costs with you.
Attention: Children are only allowed to stay in the pool or whirlpool under the supervision of their parents. Children should not bathe in the hot tub for longer than 15 minutes.
Gas heating
Some houses have gas heating. The first bottle is free and usually lasts about 10 days. The replacement of additional bottles is subject to a charge and must be ordered from the caretaker.
Infrared heating.
In some houses there is infrared heating in the bedrooms. This ensures a pleasantly temperature-controlled bedroom. Please do not adjust the temperature set on the thermostat of 20°C.
Restaurants
In Tejina, after the first bar and the supermarket, a street leads up to the left. Here is the restaurant “Las Goteras” with original Spanish cuisine. In Guia de Isora you will find several restaurants and pizzerias on the main street. Here too, the quality and price are okay. Between Guia de Isora and the town of Chio is the popular restaurant SIRA on the main road right in the curve. (If you get to know a good restaurant, get a business card and put it in the folder)
Supermarkets
If you come from El Jaral, turn right towards Guia de Isora. On the main road, after 500m, turn right to the “Dialprix” supermarket and just before leaving the town, turn left to “Alteza”. If you turn left coming from El Jaral you come to Tejina and on the left is a bar and a small supermarket with surprisingly good prices. The large supermarket is at the large roundabout in Adeje, on the left up the hill is “LIDL”, and at the roundabout on the right after about 300m next to the gas station is “Mercadona” with a large fish and meat department!
Swimming Pool and Wellness
The pool is available for swimming during the following times: 9:00 a.m. - 18:00 p.m.
Next to the pool there is an outdoor shower and a changing room with an additional shower with warm water and we ask that you shower before using the pool.
Sun loungers are available on the pool area. The use of the Wellness Area ( Solar Heated Pool, Sauna and Jaccuzzi has a addiotnal cost € 5,--/ Day for Each house and we include one sack of wood for the sauna per booking. Minimum booking for heating is one week. Your can buy additional sack of wood from the gardener.
Beaches
The nearest seaside resort is Playa San Juan. The fastest way is via Tejina. If you are from Jaral
Coming down, turn left on the main street, through the two tunnels. Right on
At the entrance to the town, take the first street on the right towards Playa San Juan. The path goes through
Banana plantations to the lower coastal road. This turn right. After about 1km you are
in Playa San Juan. The nicer beach, however, is Playa de las Arena with the black one
Beach. There is a nice swimming opportunity here. The place is on the lower coastal road
2 more towns further to Playa San Juan, i.e. via Alcala to Playa de las Arena, just before Los
Gigantes. The well-known and good restaurant “Pancho” is right on the beach.
Key deposit
On the day of departure, after locking the door, place the key under the doormat

Bodegas
The bodega is available for fiestas. If more than 10 guests come to have a party
celebrate, we can arrange this for you. Ask us.

Los Gigantes is interesting with its cliffs.
Teide and National Park
